single_zisi single_zisiParticipant::Right — been using this thing for about six months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. I’m based in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.
How I found it was actually embarrassing — I could never work out what an e/w payout actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I used to just guess and then be surprised. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — you put in stake and odds and it shows the return instantly, either odds format. There’s also the multiples — acca and treble maths, a lucky 15, a yankee, honestly that’s where most people I know mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it’s over at implied probability calculator — free, no signup.
One thing that actually made a difference is the geekier bits. They’ve got an odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly staking calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. Dutching calculator is decent when I’m spreading across selections.
It’s not perfect mind. Its interface is very functional, let’s say — zero frills, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it’s usable though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no proper app, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.
So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, works. If you even now works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saves me plenty of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
single_zisi single_zisiParticipant::OK — have been messing about with this thing for maybe six months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d write something up since someone asked me the other day. Am UK based, mostly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, for context.
The reason I started using it was honestly embarrassing — I never could figure out what an e/w payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d guess and then be surprised. These days I punch the numbers in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the one I open most — you drop in the price and your stake and it spits out profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — trebles returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, which is where most people I know lose track. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at calculator profit accumulator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
What really made a difference is the more serious extras. They’ve got an probability calculator and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly tool — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool is handy too when I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. Its interface looks pretty plain — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s fine though the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no app, it’s browser only — slight shame but you asked.
Anyway. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who honestly works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — it’s saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
