So — been using this thing for about six months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d write something up since someone asked me the other day. I’m in the UK, mostly do football and horses, nothing mad, for context.
The reason I started using it was actually pretty stupid — I could never get my head round what an each way payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. I used to just wing it and then be surprised. Now type the odds in first, every time, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — you drop in the price and your stake and it spits out profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles returns, a lucky 15, yankees, and that’s where most people I know mess it up. What actually made a difference was the geekier tools. There’s an odds-to-probability converter that shows what margin’s baked in, and a kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutching one is decent if I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its design looks very functional, let’s say — no polish, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it’s usable though the acca grid are a squeeze. There’s no proper app, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.
Anyway. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, works. Anyone who even now works out returns on a calculator app, try it — it’s saved me a load of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
