single_wbsi single_wbsiParticipant::So — have been messing about with this thing for maybe six months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d say something since someone asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, generally do football and horses, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.
How I found it was honestly pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an e/w return would be once you get five places instead of three. I used to just eyeball it and get a shock. Now punch the numbers in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator is the bit I use most — you put in your stake, the odds and you get profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, which is where most people I know got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at matched bet calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
What actually changed how I bet was the geekier tools. The probability thing which shows you the overround, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly as the full version is terrifying. The dutching one is handy too if I’m spreading across selections.
Couple of gripes. The interface is very functional, let’s say — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s usable though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. There’s no proper app, just the site — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.
Anyway. Costs nowt, barely any ads, does the job. If anyone still does the maths on paper, try it — saves me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
