single_rkPn single_rkPnParticipant::So — been on this thing for about a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since someone asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, generally stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.
The reason I started using it was genuinely a bit daft — I couldn’t ever work out what an ew return actually was once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d wing it and then be surprised. These days I stick my stake in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator tool is the bit I’m on daily — type in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return with no faffing, either odds format. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, honestly that’s where most people I know mess it up. Have a go yourself, it’s over at matched betting calculator uk and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
What actually made a difference were the more serious tools. There’s an implied probability calculator and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one is handy too if I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its design looks pretty plain — no flash, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it works but the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. Also there’s nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — slight shame but you asked.
So yeah. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. If you still adds it up in their head, try it — saved me a fair few “wait, that’s it?” moments.
