So — been on this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. I’m based in the UK, mainly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was genuinely a bit daft — I could never figure out what an e/w return would be with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d guess and moan when the payout landed. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the part I open most — type in your stake, the odds and you get the return with no faffing, fractions or decimals. It also handles the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, lucky 15s, yankees, which is where most people I know got it wrong. The thing that actually changed how I bet was the geekier extras. The odds-to-probability calculator and it makes obvious the overround, and there’s the kelly calculator — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m splitting a race.
It’s not perfect mind. The design is very functional, let’s say — no polish, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s fine though the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. There’s no proper app, it’s browser only — slight shame but you asked.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, does the job. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saves me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
