Right — been on this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am UK based, generally do football and horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.

How I found it was actually pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an each way return actually was once you get five places instead of three. I used to just wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now type the odds in before I place anything, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — you put in stake and odds and it shows returns straight away, fractions or decimals. There’s also the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15s, yankees, and that’s where most people I know got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it’s over at kelly criterion and it’s free with no account nonsense.

What genuinely shifted things for me is the more serious tools. They’ve got an probability thing and it makes obvious the overround, plus a kelly staking calculator — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutch tool is handy too when I’m splitting a race.

Couple of gripes. The interface feels pretty plain — not much frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. Phone-wise it works although the bigger tables are a squeeze. And no proper app, just the site — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.

So yeah. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, works. Anyone who even now adds it up in their head, give it a go — saves me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.

So — been on this thing for maybe four months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, for context.

How I found it was actually pretty stupid — I could never work out what an each way payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. I used to just guess and then be surprised. Now stick my stake in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator tool is the part I open most — you put in the price and your stake and you get profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, which is where I’d always got it wrong. If you want a look, it’s over at kelly criterion and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

One thing that genuinely changed how I bet were the more serious tools. The probability converter and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and a kelly staking tool — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are terrifying. Dutching calculator is decent if I’m splitting a race.

Couple of gripes. Its layout looks pretty plain — zero frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s usable but the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — fine by me but worth saying.

So yeah. Free, not plastered in adverts, works. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, try it — it’s saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
