Right — been using this thing for something like five months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m based in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was actually a bit daft — I could never figure out what an ew return actually came to once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d guess and get a shock. Now type the odds in before every slip, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I use most — you drop in the price and your stake and you get profit and total return straight away, either odds format. It also handles the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where I always mess it up. The thing that genuinely made a difference were the nerdier tools. There’s an implied probability thing and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly tool — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. The layout looks a bit basic — no frills, it’s clearly function over form. On mobile it’s fine but the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. There’s no app, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who still does the maths on paper, have a look — saves me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
