So — have been messing about with this thing for maybe six months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me last week. I’m UK based, generally stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, for context.

What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I could never get my head round what an ew payout would be when the place terms changed. I’d just wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now punch the numbers in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator is the one I’m on daily — type in your stake, the odds and you get returns straight away, fractions or decimals. It also handles the multiples — trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where I always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at betting probability and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

What genuinely made a difference were the geekier extras. There’s an implied probability calculator which shows you the overround, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is terrifying. Dutching calculator is handy too if I’m splitting a race.

Couple of gripes. Its layout feels very functional, let’s say — zero flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it works although the bigger tables are a squeeze. And nothing on the app store, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me just flagging it.

Anyway. Costs nowt, barely any ads, does what it says. Anyone who still does the maths on paper, try it — it’s saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.

Right — been on this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me last week. Am in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, for context.

The reason I started using it was honestly pretty stupid — I never could figure out what an ew payout would be with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now stick my stake in before I place anything, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator is the bit I’m on daily — type in your stake, the odds and you get returns straight away, fractions or decimals. There’s also the bigger stuff — acca and treble returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, and that’s where I’d always lose track. Have a go yourself, it lives at heinz calculator — free, no signup.

One thing that genuinely changed how I bet were the more serious tools. The probability converter which shows you what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly staking calculator — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. The dutching one is decent when I’m splitting a race.

Not all sunshine though. The design looks a bit basic — no flash, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it works though the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s nothing on the app store, just the site — slight shame just flagging it.

So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, works. If anyone even now adds it up in their head, try it — it’s saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
