single_hvPn single_hvPnParticipant::Right — been using this thing for maybe six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me the other day. I’m UK based, mostly stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was genuinely embarrassing — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just eyeball it and get a shock. Now I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I use most — type in stake and odds and it shows returns instantly, fractions or decimals. There’s also the bigger stuff — trebles returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, which is where most people I know lose track. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at kelly criterion odds calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
The thing that really changed how I bet was the nerdier extras. There’s an probability calculator which shows you how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly staking tool — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are terrifying. Dutching calculator is handy too when I’m covering two or three runners.
Not all sunshine though. The interface feels a bit basic — no polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it works though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. There’s no proper app, it’s browser only — fine by me but you asked.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who even now adds it up in their head, give it a go — saves me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
