Right — have been messing about with this thing for about five months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me last week. I’m UK based, mostly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.
How I found it was genuinely a bit daft — I could never work out what an e/w return actually was when the place terms changed. I used to just wing it and moan when the payout landed. These days I punch the numbers in before every slip, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — you drop in your stake, the odds and it shows profit and total return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles returns, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where most people I know got it wrong. What really shifted things for me was the geekier tools. The probability calculator which shows you the overround, and there’s the kelly calculator — I use half kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutching one gets used a fair bit when I’m spreading across selections.
It’s not perfect mind. Its design feels very functional, let’s say — not much flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it works but the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no app, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.
So yeah. Free, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If you honestly works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saves me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
