So — have been messing about with this thing for maybe four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d write something up since a mate asked me the other day. I’m in the UK, mostly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.

How I found it was honestly embarrassing — I never could get my head round what an each way return actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d eyeball it and then be surprised. Now I punch the numbers in first, every time, even the boring singles.

The single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — type in the price and your stake and it shows profit and total return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the multiples — trebles maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where I’d always lose track. If you fancy a poke about, it’s here bet returns calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.

The thing that genuinely made a difference is the geekier tools. There’s an implied probability thing which shows you how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly staking tool — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutch tool is decent when I’m splitting a race.

It’s not perfect mind. Its design is a bit basic — zero flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it’s fine although the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. And no app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but you asked.

So yeah. Free, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If you still works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saved me plenty of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
