OK — have been messing about with this thing for about four months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d write something up since someone asked me a few days back. Am UK based, generally bet football and racing, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.

How I found it was actually embarrassing — I couldn’t ever work out what an each way payout actually came to when the place terms changed. Basically I’d wing it and then be surprised. These days I type the odds in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.

The single bet calculator is the bit I’m on daily — type in your stake, the odds and it spits out profit and total return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles returns, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where I’d always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at sports betting vig calculator — free, no signup.

What actually shifted things for me is the geekier tools. They’ve got an odds-to-probability thing which shows you how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly staking tool — I use half kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. The dutch tool is handy too when I’m spreading across selections.

Not all sunshine though. Its layout is a bit basic — no polish, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it’s usable but the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. And nothing on the app store, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.

Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If you even now does the maths on paper, try it — it’s saved me a load of “wait, that’s it?” moments.

OK — been using this thing for something like six months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d say something since a mate asked me a few days back. Am UK based, generally do football and horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.

What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I never could get my head round what an each way payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just wing it and moan when the payout landed. These days I stick my stake in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.

Their single bet calculator tool is the one I use most — you put in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return straight away, either odds format. There’s also the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where most people I know mess it up. Have a go yourself, it lives at accumulator odds — free, no signup.

What genuinely made a difference were the geekier bits. The implied probability converter that shows the overround, and there’s the kelly calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit for when I’m spreading across selections.

Couple of gripes. Its design looks very functional, let’s say — zero frills, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it’s usable though the acca grid are a squeeze. There’s nothing on the app store, just the site — slight shame but worth saying.

So yeah. Free, no ads shoved in your face, works. If anyone honestly adds it up in their head, try it — it’s saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
