OK — been using this thing for about five months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d say something since someone asked me last week. I’m in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, for context.

How I found it was genuinely embarrassing — I never could work out what an each way payout would be with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just guess and then be surprised. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.

The single bet calculator is the part I open most — you put in the price and your stake and it shows the return straight away, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — trebles returns, lucky 15s, yankees, and that’s where I always mess it up. Have a go yourself, it’s here lucky 63 calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

What actually changed how I bet were the geekier bits. The probability thing and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, plus a kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m splitting a race.

Not all sunshine though. The design is a bit basic — zero frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it works but the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. And no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but you asked.

So yeah. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If anyone even now works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.

So — been using this thing for about four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me last week. I’m in the UK, generally stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.

What got me on it was actually pretty stupid — I never could figure out what an e/w return actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. Now I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.

Their single bet calculator tool is the one I use most — you put in your stake, the odds and you get returns with no faffing, either odds format. It also handles the fiddly ones — trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, which is where I always lose track. Have a go yourself, it lives at kelly criterion formula — free, no signup.

What really changed how I bet is the geekier tools. They’ve got an implied probability calculator that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly staking calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator is decent for when I’m spreading across selections.

Couple of gripes. The design is a bit basic — zero flash, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it’s usable though the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. There’s nothing on the app store, just the site — fine by me but you asked.

Anyway. Free, no ads shoved in your face, works. If anyone still does the maths on paper, give it a go — it’s saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
