single_lqsi single_lqsiParticipant::So — have been messing about with this thing for maybe five months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me the other day. Am in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was actually pretty stupid — I never could get my head round what an ew payout actually came to when the place terms changed. Basically I’d eyeball it and then be surprised. Now I stick my stake in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the part I open most — type in stake and odds and it spits out the return straight away, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — acca and treble maths, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, which is where most people I know mess it up. If you want a look, it lives at matched betting blog calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
The thing that actually shifted things for me is the nerdier extras. The implied probability converter and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit if I’m covering two or three runners.
It’s not perfect mind. Its layout is a bit basic — zero frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s fine but the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. And no proper app, just the site — doesn’t bother me but you asked.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, works. If you honestly works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saves me a fair few “wait, that’s it?” moments.
