OK — been on this thing for maybe four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me last week. Am UK based, mostly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was genuinely embarrassing — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an each way return actually was when the place terms changed. I used to just eyeball it and get a shock. These days I punch the numbers in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — you put in the price and your stake and it spits out returns with no faffing, fractions or decimals. It also handles the bigger stuff — acca and treble returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, and that’s where most people I know lose track. The thing that really shifted things for me were the more serious bits. They’ve got an implied probability converter that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly staking calculator — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is terrifying. The dutching one is decent if I’m covering two or three runners.
Not all sunshine though. The design looks very functional, let’s say — no polish, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it works although the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. There’s no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.
Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, does the job. If anyone honestly does the maths on paper, have a look — saves me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
