single_fvsi single_fvsiParticipant::So — have been messing about with this thing for about four months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me last week. Am based in the UK, generally bet football and racing, small stakes, so take it how you like.
How I found it was honestly embarrassing — I never could work out what an each way return actually came to when the place terms changed. Basically I’d guess and get a shock. Now stick my stake in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — type in the price and your stake and it spits out profit and total return with no faffing, fractions or decimals. There’s also the fiddly ones — trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, and that’s where I’d always mess it up. If you want a look, it’s here calculate lucky 63 — free, no signup.
The thing that really made a difference is the nerdier extras. The probability calculator that shows the overround, plus a kelly staking calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are terrifying. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its layout feels pretty plain — no polish, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it works though the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s nothing on the app store, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but worth saying.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, does what it says. Anyone who honestly adds it up in their head, have a look — saves me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.

What got me on it was honestly pretty stupid — I could never figure out what an each way payout actually was when the place terms changed. I’d just guess and then be surprised. These days I punch the numbers in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — you put in stake and odds and you get profit and total return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, which is where I always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at matched betting calculators — free, no signup.
One thing that actually made a difference is the geekier tools. There’s an implied probability calculator and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one gets used a fair bit if I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its layout is a bit basic — no flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s usable although the acca grid are a squeeze. And nothing on the app store, just the site — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.
Anyway. Free, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If anyone even now works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saves me a load of arguments with the bookie.
