single_ciPn single_ciPnParticipant::Right — have been messing about with this thing for something like six months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me the other day. I’m in the UK, generally stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was honestly embarrassing — I couldn’t ever work out what an e/w return actually was when the place terms changed. Basically I’d guess and get a shock. These days I punch the numbers in first, every time, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I open most — you drop in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return with no faffing, fractions or decimals. There’s also the fiddly ones — trebles returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where I always lose track. Have a go yourself, it’s over at oddsmatcher calculator — free, no signup.
One thing that genuinely changed how I bet were the geekier extras. The implied probability calculator and it makes obvious the overround, and a kelly tool — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one is handy too when I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. Its design feels a bit basic — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s usable though the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. And no proper app, it’s browser only — slight shame but worth saying.
So yeah. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, works. Anyone who honestly works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
