So — have been messing about with this thing for about six months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me a few days back. I’m UK based, generally do football and horses, small stakes, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was genuinely pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way return would be when the place terms changed. I’d just eyeball it and then be surprised. These days I type the odds in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — you drop in your stake, the odds and it shows returns instantly, either odds format. It also handles the multiples — trebles maths, lucky 15s, yankees, and that’s where I always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it’s here kelly bet calculator — free, no signup.
The thing that genuinely changed how I bet were the nerdier bits. There’s an probability thing that shows the overround, and there’s the kelly tool — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. The design feels very functional, let’s say — no polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s fine although the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. There’s nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — slight shame but you asked.
Anyway. Costs nowt, barely any ads, does the job. Anyone who even now adds it up in their head, give it a go — it’s saved me a load of “wait, that’s it?” moments.
